Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the learning of Akidah and Akhlak (Islamic Beliefs and Morality) at MA Al Maidah Catak Gayam through the implementation of the Flipped Classroom model. The research focuses on enhancing students' understanding and application of Islamic teachings by reversing the traditional learning process. In a Flipped Classroom setting, students are provided with learning materials, such as videos or readings, to review at home, while in-class time is dedicated to discussions, problem-solving activities, and collaborative learning. This approach encourages active engagement, deeper understanding, and practical application of Akidah and Akhlak concepts in real-life situations.

The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the planning phase, the researcher designed lesson plans that incorporated the Flipped Classroom method, with resources such as video lectures and interactive online content. During the action phase, students reviewed the materials independently at home, and in-class activities focused on discussions, case studies, and group projects. Observations were made during class sessions to monitor student engagement and participation. In the reflection phase, the effectiveness of the approach was evaluated, and adjustments were made for the next cycle.

The results show that the Flipped Classroom model significantly improved students' understanding of Akidah and Akhlak. Students demonstrated increased participation, critical thinking, and a deeper connection to the material. This method empowered students to take ownership of their learning and facilitated a more interactive and meaningful learning experience.
