Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance the learning of Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI) at MAS Harisul Khairaat Ome through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model. The research focuses on improving students' engagement, understanding, and retention of Islamic history and culture by encouraging collaboration among students. Cooperative learning, which emphasizes teamwork and shared responsibility, enables students to actively participate in learning activities, exchange ideas, and solve problems together. This method fosters a deeper understanding of SKI material through peer interaction and shared knowledge.

The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the planning phase, the teacher and researcher designed lesson plans that integrated cooperative learning strategies, such as group discussions, collaborative projects, and peer teaching. During the action phase, students worked in small groups to explore SKI topics, while the teacher facilitated the learning process. Observations were made during the lessons to monitor student participation and group dynamics. In the reflection phase, the effectiveness of the cooperative learning approach was evaluated, and adjustments were made for the next cycle.

The findings of the research suggest that cooperative learning significantly improved students' engagement and understanding of SKI. Students demonstrated increased motivation, better communication skills, and a greater ability to apply historical concepts in context. The collaborative environment created by this model allowed students to share different perspectives, leading to a more comprehensive understanding of Islamic history and culture. The research highlights the effectiveness of cooperative learning in enhancing the learning experience and outcomes in SKI education at MAS Harisul Khairaat Ome.
