Abstract





This classroom action research aims to improve students’ understanding of noble character (akhlak terpuji) through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Grade IV at SDN 015 Karya Sempurna. The research was conducted in two cycles, consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The background of this study was the students’ low understanding of Islamic moral values, as seen in their daily behavior and responses during class discussions. The CTL model connects learning materials with real-life situations to make the learning process more meaningful and relevant. In this study, students were engaged in storytelling, group discussions, role plays, and reflections based on real-life moral dilemmas related to honesty, responsibility, and discipline.


The results showed significant improvement in student comprehension and behavior. In the first cycle, only 52% of students met the minimum standard, which increased to 88% in the second cycle. Students became more enthusiastic, participative, and demonstrated better moral awareness in both classroom and daily activities. In conclusion, the CTL model effectively enhances students’ understanding and internalization of noble character values and is recommended for PAI learning in elementary schools.
