Enhancing Quran and Hadith Learning through Cooperative Learning Model at MI Permata Hati Bangsa Tebing Tinggi: A Classroom Action Research

Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding and engagement in Quran and Hadith learning at MI Permata Hati Bangsa Tebing Tinggi through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model. The study was conducted with a focus on enhancing students' ability to comprehend and apply the teachings of the Quran and Hadith in their daily lives. The research involved a group of 25 students from grade 5 who were selected as participants. Data collection methods included classroom observations, interviews, tests, and student feedback. The research was conducted in two cycles, following the action research model of planning, action, observation, and reflection to ensure continuous improvement in the learning process.
The results of the study showed that the Cooperative Learning Model effectively enhanced student participation, motivation, and comprehension of Quranic texts and Hadith. Students were more engaged in the learning process and showed improved collaborative skills, as they worked in groups to discuss and interpret Quranic verses and Hadith. Moreover, their understanding of key Islamic concepts deepened as they were encouraged to teach and learn from one another. The teacher's role as a facilitator was crucial in guiding students to work together and explore the material in a more meaningful way. The research also indicated that students' retention of the material improved through peer collaboration and interactive learning activities.
In conclusion, the Cooperative Learning Model proves to be an effective approach in enhancing the understanding of Quran and Hadith among students at MI Permata Hati Bangsa Tebing Tinggi. It is recommended that this model be further integrated into the school’s curriculum to support active and collaborative learning.
