Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of Quran and Hadith at MTs Al-Khairiyah Banyuwangi through the implementation of the Differentiated Instruction Model. The study focuses on adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students, allowing for personalized learning experiences that improve engagement and comprehension. The research involved a group of 30 students from grade 7, selected for their varied levels of ability and learning styles. Data was collected through classroom observations, student assessments, interviews, and reflective journaling by the teacher. The research was carried out in two cycles, following the typical action research model: planning, action, observation, and reflection, to ensure continuous improvement in the learning process.
The results showed that the Differentiated Instruction Model significantly improved students' engagement and understanding of Quranic texts and Hadith. By tailoring the content, process, and product based on individual student needs, the model facilitated more meaningful and effective learning. Students with different learning styles, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic, were able to access the material in ways that suited them best. Additionally, students showed greater motivation and confidence in participating in discussions and activities. The teacher’s role as a facilitator was crucial in guiding students through this personalized approach and providing support where needed.
In conclusion, the research highlights the effectiveness of the Differentiated Instruction Model in improving Quran and Hadith learning at MTs Al-Khairiyah Banyuwangi. This approach not only caters to the diverse needs of students but also fosters a more engaging and inclusive learning environment. It is recommended that this model be further integrated into the curriculum to enhance the learning experience for all students.
