Enhancing Early Childhood Learning through Innovative Teaching Methods at RA Darussalam: A Classroom Action Research

Abstract





This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve early childhood learning at RA Darussalam by implementing innovative teaching methods that enhance student engagement and understanding. The study focuses on applying a variety of interactive and creative teaching strategies to foster an enjoyable learning environment. The research was conducted with 25 students from the preschool level, selected for their diverse learning needs. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher assessments, interviews with parents, and feedback from both students and teachers. The research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection, allowing for continuous adjustments and improvements in the teaching and learning process.


The findings reveal that the innovative teaching methods significantly improved students' engagement and understanding of core subjects, including language, mathematics, and religious education. By incorporating activities such as storytelling, role-play, and hands-on learning, students demonstrated greater enthusiasm and participation in lessons. The use of visual aids and interactive materials also helped cater to different learning styles, making the learning experience more inclusive. Teachers observed increased communication skills, social interactions, and problem-solving abilities among students as a result of the new approaches.


In conclusion, this research highlights the effectiveness of innovative teaching methods in enhancing early childhood learning at RA Darussalam. The approach not only supports academic growth but also promotes the development of essential social and emotional skills. It is recommended that these methods be integrated further into the curriculum to create a more dynamic and student-centered learning environment.
