Enhancing Early Childhood Learning Through Islamic Values: A Classroom Action Research at RA Hidayatul Islamiyah
Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance early childhood learning at RA Hidayatul Islamiyah by integrating Islamic values into the educational process. Early childhood is a critical period for character development, and embedding Islamic teachings at this stage is essential for fostering moral and spiritual growth. The research focuses on identifying effective strategies to incorporate Islamic values, such as honesty, discipline, and compassion, into daily learning activities and observing their impact on children’s behavior, attitudes, and cognitive development.
The study involves teachers and students from RA Hidayatul Islamiyah, with data collected through observations, interviews, and assessments of children’s progress in both academic and moral domains. The research is conducted in two cycles: the first focuses on planning and implementing teaching strategies that introduce Islamic values, while the second evaluates the effectiveness of these strategies and suggests improvements based on student responses. The classroom activities include storytelling, role play, and simple discussions about Islamic teachings in a child-friendly manner.
Findings from the study indicate that integrating Islamic values in early childhood education positively impacts children’s behavior and learning outcomes. Students demonstrate increased respect for others, better self-regulation, and improved engagement in classroom activities. Teachers report greater ease in managing classroom dynamics, as the children’s understanding of Islamic principles helps guide their interactions and actions.
This research highlights the importance of incorporating moral and spiritual teachings into early childhood education, providing a foundation for developing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically competent but also morally responsible.
