Improving Indonesian Language Skills through Cooperative Learning: A Classroom Action Research at MIS Al Falah 2
Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve Indonesian language skills among students at MIS Al Falah 2 through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model. Cooperative Learning is a teaching strategy that emphasizes collaborative activities, where students work together in small groups to achieve a common learning goal. The study focuses on how this model can enhance students' proficiency in Indonesian language, especially in reading comprehension, writing skills, and verbal communication.
The research involves students from the fifth grade of MIS Al Falah 2. Data collection is conducted through classroom observations, student interviews, and pre- and post-assessments to measure improvements in students' language skills. The research is carried out in two cycles: the first cycle introduces the Cooperative Learning model with activities such as group discussions, peer teaching, and collaborative writing tasks. The second cycle focuses on refining the teaching strategies based on feedback from the first cycle, with more targeted activities to address specific challenges encountered by students.
The findings of the study indicate that the Cooperative Learning model significantly enhances students' engagement and participation in Indonesian language lessons. Students demonstrate greater interest in learning, improve their ability to work collaboratively, and show noticeable improvements in language skills, particularly in speaking and writing. The study also reveals that cooperative learning helps students develop better social and communication skills, fostering a positive classroom environment.
This research concludes that Cooperative Learning is an effective approach to improving Indonesian language skills at MIS Al Falah 2. The model promotes active learning, collaboration, and student-centered instruction, leading to better academic performance and language development
