Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Faith and Morality) at MTS Islahul Ummah NW Sukaraja by implementing the Constructivist Learning model. The research explores how this student-centered approach can improve students' comprehension of Islamic principles and moral values. Constructivism emphasizes active learning where students build their own understanding through experiences, interactions, and reflection, making it an ideal method for teaching Akidah Akhlak, which requires deep personal engagement with the subject matter.

The study involves eighth-grade students at MTS Islahul Ummah NW Sukaraja. Data is collected through classroom observations, student interviews, and pre- and post-assessments to measure improvements in students’ understanding of Islamic faith and morality. The research is carried out in two cycles: the first cycle introduces the Constructivist Learning model by engaging students in group discussions, problem-solving activities, and real-life applications of moral concepts. The second cycle focuses on refining the approach based on feedback from the first cycle, with more emphasis on hands-on activities and reflective practices to deepen students' internalization of Akidah Akhlak.

The results show that the Constructivist Learning model significantly enhances students' engagement with the subject, promotes critical thinking, and improves their ability to apply moral principles in daily life. Students became more reflective about their beliefs and actions, leading to a greater understanding of Islamic faith and values. This research concludes that the Constructivist Learning model is an effective approach for teaching Akidah Akhlak, fostering both intellectual and moral development among students
