Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the Quran and Hadith at MA Al-Hannaniyah NW Sebenge through the Direct Instruction (DI) model. The study focuses on addressing the challenges faced by students in mastering religious texts, particularly in comprehending the teachings of the Quran and Hadith. The DI model, characterized by structured lessons, teacher-led explanations, and guided practice, was implemented to improve students' engagement and retention of key religious concepts.
The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. In the first cycle, students' prior knowledge was assessed, and the DI approach was introduced through focused, clear explanations and direct interactions. The second cycle emphasized strengthening the use of visual aids and group discussions to reinforce learning. Data collection involved pre- and post-tests, classroom observations, and student feedback.
The findings indicated a significant improvement in students' understanding of Quranic verses and Hadiths, with increased participation and confidence during lessons. The study highlights the effectiveness of the Direct Instruction model in enhancing religious literacy in a high school setting. It suggests that a more structured and guided approach to teaching Islamic texts can help students develop a deeper connection with their faith, improving both academic performance and spiritual awareness.
