Abstract
This research aims to explore the development of Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Faith and Morality) in students at MIS Nurul Wathan using the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model. Akidah Akhlak is a crucial aspect of Islamic education, fostering a deep understanding of faith and ethics that aligns with Islamic values. The Inquiry-Based Learning model, which encourages students to ask questions, investigate, and reflect on their findings, was chosen as the instructional approach to enhance the engagement and understanding of Akidah Akhlak.
The study was conducted with students from MIS Nurul Wathan, a school focused on integrating religious education with academic learning. Through this research, the effectiveness of the IBL model in improving students' understanding of Islamic beliefs and morals was assessed. The study employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and feedback from students.
The results indicated that the IBL model significantly enhanced the students' ability to connect Islamic teachings with real-life situations. It promoted critical thinking, self-reflection, and a deeper understanding of the ethical and faith-based principles of Islam. Students were more engaged and motivated to learn, demonstrating increased interest in discussions related to Akidah Akhlak. The teacher's role in guiding inquiry and facilitating reflective discussions was crucial in the successful implementation of the model.
In conclusion, the Inquiry-Based Learning model proved to be an effective approach in fostering a deeper understanding of Akidah Akhlak in students at MIS Nurul Wathan. This research highlights the potential of inquiry-based methods to promote active learning in religious education, particularly in enhancing students' comprehension of faith and moral values.
