Enhancing Fiqh Understanding through Project-Based Learning at MIS Maraqitta'limat Mandala: A Pathway to Engaged and Practical Learning
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study explores the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in teaching Fiqh at MIS Maraqitta'limat Mandala. The aim of this research is to investigate how PBL can enhance students’ understanding of Fiqh by engaging them in real-world projects that integrate Islamic legal principles into practical scenarios. PBL is known to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, making it an effective approach for deeper learning in religious education. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and surveys of students to gather data on the effectiveness of PBL in the Fiqh curriculum. The findings indicate that when students are given the opportunity to work on projects, such as creating community awareness programs or simulating Islamic legal case studies, they demonstrate improved understanding of Fiqh concepts and principles. Additionally, the study reveals that PBL promotes active learning, where students are motivated to research, discuss, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. However, challenges such as time constraints and varying levels of student participation were noted. This research emphasizes the importance of providing adequate support and resources for both students and teachers to ensure the successful implementation of PBL. Overall, the study concludes that PBL offers a promising approach to teaching Fiqh at MIS Maraqitta'limat Mandala, enhancing student engagement and fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic law through practical, hands-on learning experiences.
