Abstract

This study aims to enhance students' understanding of the Quran and Hadith at MI Muhammadiyah 03 Pingit through the implementation of Contextual Learning Models. The Contextual Learning approach is a teaching method that connects the learning material with real-life situations, making the learning process more relevant and engaging for students. In the context of Islamic religious education, this method is particularly beneficial in helping students grasp the deeper meanings and teachings of the Quran and Hadith, not just as texts, but as guidance for their daily lives.

The research was conducted using a qualitative approach, focusing on classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and analysis of students' learning outcomes. The study found that by incorporating Contextual Learning, students were able to relate the teachings of the Quran and Hadith to their personal experiences, which significantly improved their comprehension and retention. Furthermore, teachers observed an increase in student participation, as the material became more meaningful to them.

This study highlights the importance of adopting innovative teaching strategies in Islamic education, especially in enhancing religious literacy in elementary school students. The results suggest that the Contextual Learning model is an effective way to foster a deeper understanding of religious texts and to encourage critical thinking and reflection among students. It is hoped that the findings of this study can be used to further develop teaching methods in MI Muhammadiyah 03 Pingit and other similar institutions.
