Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of the Contextual Learning Model in enhancing Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Morality) values among students at MI Al Falah Malinau. Akidah Akhlak is a fundamental subject in Islamic education, focusing on instilling faith and moral values. However, students at MI Al Falah Malinau often struggle to connect theoretical concepts with real-life applications. The Contextual Learning Model, which encourages students to link new knowledge with their personal experiences and the surrounding environment, is proposed as a solution to this issue.

This study was conducted over two cycles, with the first cycle focusing on planning and implementation, while the second cycle aimed to refine and improve the learning process based on feedback and evaluation from the first cycle. The research involved 30 students from class V, who participated in interactive activities designed to relate Akidah Akhlak teachings to everyday situations. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and assessment of student engagement and comprehension.

The results indicate that the Contextual Learning Model significantly improved students' understanding and internalization of Akidah Akhlak values. Students became more engaged, demonstrated better moral reasoning, and could apply the principles of Akidah Akhlak in their daily lives. This study underscores the importance of using context-based approaches in teaching moral and religious education, as they help make abstract concepts more tangible and relevant to students' personal experiences.
