Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students in the topic of Zakat at MI Al-Huda Ploso, specifically for Grade VI students, during the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, through the use of teaching aids. Zakat, as one of the core pillars of Islam, is an essential topic that students need to understand not only in theory but also in practical application. However, students often struggle to grasp the concepts and calculations related to Zakat. The use of teaching aids is seen as an effective method to enhance understanding and make learning more interactive.

The research adopts a classroom action research (CAR) approach, focusing on improving student engagement and comprehension through the use of visual aids, such as charts, diagrams, and interactive models. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and pre- and post-tests to assess students' knowledge before and after the intervention.

The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' understanding of Zakat after using teaching aids. Students showed more active participation in lessons, and their ability to explain Zakat concepts and perform calculations also improved. The use of teaching aids helped students visualize abstract concepts and provided them with concrete examples to facilitate learning. This study concludes that teaching aids are an effective tool to improve students’ learning outcomes in religious education, especially in understanding complex topics like Zakat.
