Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of Akidah and Akhlak at MTs Raudhatul Mardiyah Mandar through the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL). PBL is an active learning model where students engage in real-world projects that require critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. The focus of this study is to explore how PBL can enhance students' comprehension and application of Islamic teachings, particularly related to Akidah (faith) and Akhlak (morality), by involving them in practical, hands-on learning experiences.

The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of students' work to assess the impact of PBL on their understanding of Akidah and Akhlak. The study is conducted over two cycles, with each cycle involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collected includes student participation, the quality of their projects, and their ability to connect Islamic values with their daily lives.

Preliminary findings suggest that the use of PBL significantly improved students' engagement and understanding of Akidah and Akhlak. Students demonstrated better critical thinking skills and were able to relate moral values from Islamic teachings to practical scenarios. The collaborative nature of PBL also enhanced students' interpersonal skills and fostered a sense of responsibility and teamwork.

In conclusion, the implementation of Project-Based Learning in teaching Akidah and Akhlak at MTs Raudhatul Mardiyah Mandar proved to be effective in enhancing both students' academic performance and their character development, making the learning experience more meaningful and impactful.
