Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of role play as an innovative teaching method in enhancing the understanding of noble character values (akhlak mulia) among third-grade students at MI Assa'adah Labuapi. With a sample of 25 students, the research investigates how interactive role-playing activities can improve students' comprehension and practice of Islamic moral values such as honesty, kindness, and respect. The role play method allows students to act out real-life scenarios that reflect the teachings of Akidah Akhlak, making abstract concepts more tangible and relatable. Data were collected through observations, pre-and post-assessments, and interviews with both students and teachers. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' ability to demonstrate and explain good character traits in their daily lives. The study concludes that role play is an effective approach to teaching Akidah Akhlak, as it fosters active learning and helps students internalize moral values more effectively. This method is recommended for future use in character education to promote the development of positive attitudes and behavior in students.
