Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) study aims to explore the application of cooperative learning techniques to enhance social skills and character development among 20 students at RA Perwanida Buntok. The research investigates how cooperative activities, such as group discussions and collaborative tasks, can foster values such as teamwork, empathy, respect, and responsibility in young children. Data was collected through observations, student surveys, and interviews with teachers to assess changes in students' social behavior and character traits. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' ability to work together, communicate effectively, and demonstrate positive character traits such as honesty and mutual respect. Additionally, the cooperative learning approach encouraged students to engage more actively in class and take responsibility for their own learning as well as for the group's success. This study concludes that the implementation of cooperative learning techniques in early childhood education is an effective method to develop both social skills and character in students. Therefore, this method is recommended for use in similar educational settings to foster a collaborative, positive learning environment that supports the holistic development of young children.
