Abstract
This study explores the implementation of the Flipped Classroom method to enhance student engagement in the learning of Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) at SMAN 1 PKL Lesung. The research aims to investigate how this method can increase active participation and deeper understanding of religious studies among high school students. The Flipped Classroom model, where students are introduced to new content outside of class through videos and other resources, followed by in-class activities that promote discussion, problem-solving, and application of knowledge, was implemented. The study used a mixed-method approach, incorporating observations, surveys, and interviews with both students and teachers. Results showed a significant increase in student engagement during class activities and improved understanding of PAI topics. Students reported greater satisfaction with learning as they felt more involved and able to take ownership of their learning process. Teachers noted that the method facilitated more dynamic classroom interactions and allowed for more personalized support. This research demonstrates that the Flipped Classroom method can be an effective strategy to enhance student engagement and the quality of learning in PAI, contributing to a more interactive and student-centered educational environment.
