Abstract
This study examines the use of podcasts as a tool in teaching Islamic Civilization History to enhance creativity and critical thinking among students at MAN 1 Konawe. The research aims to explore how the integration of podcasts in history lessons can foster a more interactive and engaging learning environment, leading to an improvement in students' analytical skills and creativity. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, including pre- and post-tests, surveys, and interviews with students and teachers. The results show that the use of podcasts significantly increased students' engagement and understanding of the subject matter. Students reported that podcasts, with their combination of audio and visual elements, helped them grasp complex historical concepts more easily. Furthermore, podcasts encouraged students to think critically about historical events and their implications, as they were asked to analyze the content and discuss it in class. Teachers noted that podcasts provided an alternative to traditional lectures, allowing them to create a more dynamic and student-centered learning experience. This study highlights the potential of podcasts as an innovative educational tool that can be effectively integrated into history lessons, particularly in Islamic Civilization History, to promote active learning and enhance students' creativity and critical thinking skills.
