Abstract
This study aims to explore the application of group discussion methods to enhance students' understanding of Fiqh concepts at MTs Miftahul Ulum Tanjung, Pakis Aji District, Jepara. The main goal is to assess how collaborative learning through group discussions can help students better understand and internalize the principles of Fiqh in a more interactive and engaging manner. The research employs a qualitative approach with data collection through pre- and post-tests, observations, and student and teacher interviews. The results indicate that group discussions significantly improved students' comprehension of key Fiqh concepts, such as Islamic law, rituals, and ethics. Students reported increased confidence in discussing Fiqh topics and showed a deeper understanding of how these concepts apply to daily life. Furthermore, the collaborative nature of the method encouraged active participation and critical thinking among students, fostering a more dynamic learning environment. This study suggests that implementing group discussions in Fiqh education can be an effective strategy to improve student engagement and understanding. It also emphasizes the importance of active learning techniques in fostering deeper cognitive and reflective skills in religious education.
