Abstract
This study aims to explore the implementation of project-based learning (PBL) in improving students' understanding of Islamic Civilization History (SKI) at MI Ma'arif Lebak 2. PBL is an innovative teaching method that encourages students to actively engage in real-world projects, allowing them to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application. In this study, students were tasked with creating projects related to Islamic civilization, such as historical timelines, cultural exhibitions, and presentations on Islamic heritage. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of students' project outcomes. The findings show that PBL significantly enhanced students' interest and understanding of SKI, as they became more involved in the learning process and applied their knowledge to creative and collaborative tasks. Teachers observed increased student engagement, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. The research suggests that project-based learning is an effective approach to teaching SKI, fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic history and culture. It is recommended that PBL be integrated into SKI lessons to further enhance students' learning experiences and broaden their perspectives on Islamic heritage.
