Abstract
This study explores the application of play-based learning to enhance social skills and understanding of religious values among students at RA Al Islam Mijen Demak, Central Java. Play-based learning is a method where children engage in structured play to support their cognitive, social, and emotional development. In this research, the focus is on using playful activities that integrate Islamic values, such as cooperation, respect, and empathy, to improve children's social interactions and their understanding of religious teachings. The study collects data through classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and feedback from students' interactions during play activities. The findings reveal that play-based learning significantly improves children's social skills, such as communication, sharing, and teamwork. Furthermore, it helps children better grasp Islamic values, allowing them to apply these teachings in their daily lives. Teachers reported that children became more engaged in learning, showing a stronger understanding of the importance of kindness, respect, and collaboration. This research suggests that play-based learning is an effective approach to promoting both social and religious development in early childhood education settings.
