Abstract

This study explores the application of storytelling as a method to enhance the understanding of moral and religious values among students at RA Al Hidayah. Storytelling, a technique where teachers narrate stories that integrate key values and teachings, has been proven to be an effective tool in early childhood education. The aim of this research is to investigate how storytelling can help young learners understand and internalize religious and moral values in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and student feedback. The findings indicate that storytelling significantly improves students' understanding of moral values such as kindness, honesty, and respect, which are core teachings in Islamic education. Additionally, students became more engaged in learning, as they could easily relate the lessons in the stories to their daily lives. Teachers observed an increase in the students' ability to demonstrate moral values in their interactions with peers. This study suggests that storytelling can be an effective and enjoyable method for teaching moral and religious values in early childhood education, promoting a deeper understanding and application of these teachings.
