Abstract
This study explores the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model to enhance students' understanding of Islamic Studies (PAI) and improve their social skills at MA Sukaraja. The Jigsaw method is a cooperative learning strategy where students work in small groups, each responsible for learning and teaching a specific part of the material. The aim of this research is to examine how this method can foster collaboration among students, improve their comprehension of Islamic teachings, and develop essential social skills such as communication, cooperation, and problem-solving. Data were collected through classroom observations, student surveys, and teacher interviews. The findings indicate that students who participated in Jigsaw-based lessons showed improved understanding of PAI concepts and demonstrated increased interaction with peers. They were more engaged in discussions, shared insights, and helped each other grasp difficult topics. Additionally, students reported a stronger sense of teamwork and mutual respect. This study suggests that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model is an effective approach for teaching Islamic Studies in a way that is both educational and socially enriching, encouraging active participation and fostering positive interstudent relationships.
