Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work discipline and job satisfaction on employee performance at the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of West Sumatra Province. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis with data processed using SPSS 29. The heteroscedasticity test results indicate that the regression model is appropriate as there is no indication of heteroscedasticity. The multiple regression analysis shows that both work discipline and job satisfaction have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The partial t-test confirms that the t-values for both independent variables are greater than the t-table values with significance levels below 0.05. These findings align with Herzberg’s motivation-hygiene theory regarding job satisfaction and Skinner’s reinforcement theory emphasizing the importance of discipline as a motivational factor. The study concludes that improving work discipline and job satisfaction simultaneously can significantly enhance employee performance. Therefore, it is recommended that organizations improve discipline management and foster a supportive work environment to maximize employee performance in achieving organizational goals
