Abstract

Teaching and learning is a communication interaction between teachers and students. In this interaction, teachers transfer knowledge and experience so that students are able to master it. The success of learning is greatly influenced by the media used, because it can facilitate the delivery of material. In addition, media has a function to foster student motivation in learning. If the media chosen is more interesting, then student enthusiasm will also increase. The purpose of this study is to describe how the use of audio-visual media can improve student learning outcomes. The research findings show that 1) Students understand the material more quickly because it is supported by visuals in the form of pictures and posters, and their concentration is more focused. With a time of 45 minutes, the use of audio-visual media has proven to be practical and effective, reflected in the increase in student learning outcomes. The application of audio-visual media at SD 17 Tungkul Utara can be said to be quite successful.
