Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted to enhance students’ interest and understanding in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MIS Hikmatul Salridho through the use of audio-visual media. The research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study focused on how integrating audio-visual content—such as historical videos, animations, and narrated presentations—could make SKI learning more engaging and comprehensible. Data were gathered through classroom observations, student tests, and teacher reflections. The findings showed a significant improvement in students’ motivation and participation during lessons. Students became more enthusiastic about learning historical Islamic content, and their understanding of key concepts improved as reflected in their test scores. The use of audio-visual media helped simplify complex historical events and brought them to life, making it easier for students to remember and relate to the material. The study concludes that audio-visual media are effective tools in enhancing both cognitive and affective aspects of learning SKI and should be considered as a regular component in the instructional strategy for historical subjects.
