Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students’ understanding and attitude toward cleanliness through the implementation of the demonstration method in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MIS Mina. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The demonstration method was used to provide students with real-life examples of cleanliness practices, such as washing hands, maintaining personal hygiene, and keeping the classroom clean. Data were collected through observation sheets, student worksheets, and attitude assessment rubrics. The results showed a significant improvement in both cognitive and affective aspects. Students became more enthusiastic and engaged in classroom activities and began applying cleanliness practices in their daily lives at school. Their understanding of the religious importance of cleanliness also increased, as they were able to relate Islamic teachings with real actions. Teachers reported a more active and responsive classroom environment after using the demonstration method. This study concludes that the demonstration method is an effective strategy for teaching cleanliness in Islamic education, as it enhances both comprehension and behavior, creating a more meaningful and practical learning experience for students.
