Enhancing Quranic and Hadith Understanding through Contextual Learning: A Study at Mas DDI Majene

Abstract
This research aims to explore the effectiveness of contextual learning in enhancing students' understanding of the Quran and Hadith at Mas DDI Majene. The study focuses on the integration of contextual learning strategies to facilitate better comprehension and application of Islamic teachings in everyday life. Contextual learning, which connects academic content with real-world situations, is considered a powerful pedagogical approach that helps students make meaningful connections between their lessons and the world around them. In this study, the researcher implemented a contextual learning model in the teaching of Quranic verses and Hadith to students at Mas DDI Majene. The research utilized a qualitative approach, employing classroom observations, interviews, and surveys to gather data. The findings suggest that contextual learning significantly improves students' engagement, comprehension, and ability to apply Quranic and Hadith teachings in their daily lives. This study highlights the importance of adapting traditional Islamic education to modern pedagogical methods, emphasizing the relevance of religious teachings in the contemporary context. Additionally, the research discusses the potential challenges faced by educators in implementing contextual learning and offers practical recommendations for improving teaching methods. The results of this study contribute to the growing body of research on innovative educational practices in Islamic studies, providing insights into how contextual learning can bridge the gap between religious knowledge and practical application for students.
