Abstract
This classroom action research aims to improve students’ understanding of the types of impurities (najis) and their purification methods through the use of visual media and simulation techniques. The study was conducted in Class VI of MIS Az Zahra Adiluwih over two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The initial findings indicated that students had difficulty differentiating between types of najis and were unable to explain the appropriate purification methods. To address this, the teacher implemented instructional activities using illustrated charts and step-by-step simulation of cleaning procedures based on Islamic teachings. During the second cycle, students actively participated in group simulations and discussions. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ comprehension and ability to apply the concepts correctly. They were able to classify types of najis, explain the ruling of each, and demonstrate appropriate methods of purification. The use of visual aids helped clarify abstract concepts, while simulation provided practical experience. It can be concluded that combining visual media and simulation is an effective strategy to enhance the understanding of Fiqh materials, especially those involving procedural knowledge and religious hygiene practices.
