Abstract

This classroom action research aims to enhance students’ understanding
and confidence in practicing worship (ibadah) through the implementation
of the Microteaching Role Play technique in the Fiqh subject at MIS
Islamiyah Puri. The background of the study is based on the observation
that many students experience difficulties in both conceptual
understanding and the practical performance of worship, such as prayer
and ablution. The research was conducted in two cycles, involving stages
of planning, action, observation, and reflection. In this approach, students
are assigned roles as “mini teachers” to explain or demonstrate worship
practices in front of their peers. The findings showed a significant
improvement in students’ ability to comprehend the procedures and
meaning of worship, as well as a noticeable increase in their speaking
confidence and motivation to learn. The student-centered model
encouraged peer learning, enhanced engagement, and made the learning
experience more interactive and memorable. By integrating microteaching
and role play, the technique successfully bridged theoretical knowledge
and practical application. This research recommends adopting this method
in Islamic education to foster both cognitive and affective learning
outcomes, especially in subjects that require behavioral implementation
like Fiqh.
