Abstract
This classroom action research aims to enhance students’ spiritual
awareness and critical thinking skills through the implementation of a
Digital Reflection Journal integrated with Qur’anic values in the Islamic
Education subject for Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Tandun. The
study was conducted in response to the observation that students often
understand religious concepts theoretically but lack the ability to reflect
them in daily life and analyze them critically. The research was carried out
in two cycles involving stages of planning, action, observation, and
reflection. Students were assigned to write weekly digital journals
containing their reflections on PAI lessons, aligned with Qur’anic
teachings and personal experiences. The results showed a significant
improvement in students’ engagement, depth of thought, and ability to
relate Islamic teachings to real-world issues. They also demonstrated
increased spiritual sensitivity, such as self-awareness, gratitude, and moral
responsibility. This method promotes a student-centered learning
environment where learners actively construct meaning and connect faith
with reasoning. The study concludes that Digital Reflection Journals
based on Qur’anic values are an effective tool to foster both spiritual and
intellectual growth in Islamic education.
