Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) explores the impact of interactive learning methods on student engagement and understanding in Islamic Studies at RAM 204 Tunas Bangsa. Islamic Studies is an essential part of the curriculum in Islamic schools, and fostering an engaging learning environment is critical for ensuring students' deep understanding of the material. Traditional lecture-based teaching often fails to actively engage students, limiting their participation and interest in the subject. This study seeks to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of interactive learning techniques, such as group discussions, role-playing, and multimedia resources, to enhance students' involvement and comprehension in Islamic Studies.

The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 30 students from a class at RAM 204 Tunas Bangsa. Data were collected through observations, student assessments, and feedback surveys before and after the implementation of interactive learning activities. The findings reveal a noticeable improvement in student engagement, with increased participation in discussions and activities. Students also demonstrated a better understanding of Islamic concepts and principles, particularly in applying them to real-life scenarios.

This study highlights the importance of incorporating interactive and student-centered learning strategies in Islamic Studies education. The results suggest that when students are actively involved in the learning process, they are more likely to retain knowledge, improve critical thinking, and develop a positive attitude toward the subject. The research contributes to the ongoing efforts to modernize teaching methods in Islamic education, offering valuable insights for educators looking to enhance the quality of learning in Islamic schools.
